The'Iron Route' is a walk through time located in the parish of Ordino, where you can discover the importance of the iron and steel industry and mining in the country from the beginning of the 17th century to the end of the 19th century. In fact, it was one of the activities that contributed the most money to the Principat.
The road begins at the Mine of Llorts, which can be visited during the summer, and ends at the church of Sant Martí de la Cortinada. In the past, the cartmen used the route to transport the iron to the forges of the La Massana and the shepherds used it to take the cattle from one side to the other.
The walk is ideal for the family given its ease to complete it: About four kilometers away and another four kilometers back without a slight difference. In two hours, the entire circuit can be completed.
During the journey you can see sculptures made with iron, bronze or rock, as well as a natural fountain surrounded by a characteristic ochre color.
