The Perseids, popularly known as the Tears of St. Lawrence, are one of the most popular meteor showers due to the ease with which they can be seen on our planet. As every year, the best days to enjoy the phenomenon are from 11 to 13 August. In Andorra, all you have to do is go to one of the many corners of the country with no light pollution and pay attention to the sky.
Although the shooting star shower will extend beyond 20 August, this year it will be more difficult to see them, as they will coincide with the full moon. According to experts, the probability of seeing the astronomical spectacle will increase as the night progresses, with the best time being between 4:00 and 5:00 in the morning.
The Perseids are named after the constellation Perseus, which appears just above the horizon after sunset. However, they are better known as the Tears of Saint Lawrence because of their proximity to the celebration on 10 August.
