Andorra launches a new via ferrata, and it is adapted to all levels

The new via ferrata at Roc dels Senders is 115 meters long and is established as the second via ferrata in the parish of Andorra la Vella, the first being the via ferrata of Sant Vicençs d'Enclar.

The Minister of Natural Heritage, Gerard Menardia, presented this via ferrata as a "completely beginner's route, with a very slight incline, we could say that instead of being vertical, it has an inclination more towards the rock and, therefore , easier to climb.”

This new via ferrata is presented as an ideal starting point for the sport, suitable for the whole family. Moreover, this new route aims to bring nature closer to citizens, so that Andorrans have the opportunity to enjoy the Andorra's mountains, regardless of their level.

The route in particular has a difference in level of 80 meters from its starting point in the Roc de l'Obac, and it is estimated that it can be completed in approximately 45 minutes. Therefore, it is a route that is really quite easy, and that also ends in an area with viewpoints, so that mountaineers can enjoy privileged views of the valleys.

Also part of this project is the creation of a climbing area near the via ferrata, with routes for all levels, the aim of which is for this point to become an area for beginners in mountain sports. However, it has not yet been decided whether this project can be carried out in this area safely. In order to finish enhancing the attractiveness of the area, an attempt is being made to link this via ferrata to the miradors circuit, so that mountaineers who wish to continue along this path and do not have to take the circular route that was initially planned and that leads to the Els Serradells sports centre.
